Josephine Summersett

About Me

I currently work as a Full Stack Software Engineer at McMaster-Carr, working to develop web & console applications for internal use. I graduated from Vassar College in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Departmental Honors. There, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Computer Science Department, while also serving as CS Liaison for Vassar's Gender Inclusivity in STEM and Secretary of the Computer Science Major's Committee.

In my free time, I enjoy all things theatrical and musical, with a side of baking :)

Awards

Janet Holdeen-Adams Prize - May 2022

  • Established in 1998 by the gift of Janet Holdeen-Adams, a long time supporter of computer science at Vassar, this prize is awarded for excellence in the study of computer science and for outstanding participation in the activities of the department.

Thompson-Bartlett Fellowship for Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science - May 2021

  • Created to encourage outstanding and highly motivated students to pursue summer opportunities that will allow them to build their scientific, mathematical, and computer science knowledge and advance their career goals for American scientific advancement. The goal of the fellowship is to create more equitable opportunities for those historically underrepresented in STEM-related professions in corporate, university, non-profit, governmental, or medical settings.
